Review: Equifit Hanging Boot Organizer

Initial Thoughts:

When I first saw this online I thought it was a cool idea compared to getting a janky over the door shoe organizer and for $35 was worth a shot. There are 24 mesh pockets with elastic tops and it fits 12 pairs of boots. Or so it says, I wanted to test the claim and see how many I could actually stuff in there.

Final Thoughts:

The organizer seems durable and hangs from two metal loops. I think its kind of a dumb design but I'm not sure if I could personally come up with better. It does get the job done. I screwed some screws in my door for my tack room and hang it off of that.

The bottom row holds a set of 4 Dalmar cross country boots. I don't think these boots would double up well. Above that I have a set of Equifit open fronts and you can see I stacked the ankle boots on top of the fronts and that fits well. Medium DSBs can fit a pair per pocket but large or extra large requires each boot to have their own pocket. I currently have 11 pairs of boots shoved in there with 6 more empty pockets (which is good because I have more boots hiding somewhere). Overall this can hold more than 12 pairs if you are a hoarder like me. I think for the price this is a really great way to store boots. If I had a bigger door I'd probably buy 2 of these and hang them side by side that's how much I like this.

Review: Goode Rider Iconic Breech

I bought these last June at Mary's Tack and Feed in Del Mar, California. During my shopping trip I was telling the saleswoman about my favorite pair of breeches (Animo) when she convinced me to try on a pair of silicone full seat breeches by a brand I cannot remember (I want to say Struck but they aren't a retailer so I'm so lost). Whatever they were they were around $400-600 dollars. I didn't mind trying them on because lets be real I don't have that kind of money. 

And somehow that turned into trying on TS (for the first time!), Ariat, Pikeur, Cavallo, and these bad boys. 

Fit

These breeches fit very snug. The wide waistband is very comfortable and helps hold them up on my hips. My body type is more hourglass/pear where pants can be too snug in the thighs/butt yet too wide in the waist. These breeches are tight enough on my hips/waist and not too tight on my thighs/butt. The bottom leg of the pants are very contoured with a lycra like material that is stretchy enough to put on easily but also don't bunch up in the ankles. I would say they run true to size as they were the same size as the TS Trophy Hunters I tried on. The rise fits very comfortably on my hips, Not quite a mid, but not so low that I feel like I can't bend over without a belt. 

Fabric 

I ~adore~ the fabric on these. They are sport tech but extremely comfortable. I find some sport tech fabrics can be itchy but these are not. They are stretchy yet tight in any loose spots. I find the fabric to be very flattering and covers *flaws* in my body (i.e. no cottage cheese shows). 

Style 

The navy color really pairs well with a lot of outfits. If I plan on going somewhere after the barn these are my go-to breeches as I think they are very stylish with street clothes as well (not that not being stylish has stopped me from wearing breeches in public before). There is nice detailing on the (fake) front pocket that is a snaffle bit. The tan contrast stitching is also very coordinating. I like the euroseat design and the back pockets. The back pockets have a raised "spur design" that is a nice, small detail but isn't obnoxious. 

Summary

Overall I would rate these breeches an 8/10. The price point is on the higher side for me, but I think it is a great price for the quality. They wash fabulously and still look brand new. The fabric does not seem to stain or get very dirty at the barn. The fit, fabric, and style are exactly what I look for in a nice breech. I've had them for over 6 months now and use them more often in my regular breech rotation. They still look and feel brand new. I do wish they had a front pocket and I prefer full seats in my dressage saddle. However, I would not hesitate to pay retail price and buy another pair (hopefully full seat!) this summer.

The only pants to wear in winter

I'm fighting through this y'all. Knowing what you have shared on your blogs when you have had hard times reminds me Im not alone. I truely truely appreciate all of your support and it means the world to me.

A not-super-sads post was in store for today. The only pants you should wear all winter. If you have to wear pants. And its not antartica. 

Ariat tek winter riding breeches full seat

These sons of bitches are the holy grail for winter. Winter riding breeches. Thin, yet warm as hell. Look like leggings. Wear them with anything! 

Seriously you'll be lookin all fierce and everyone will be like "how she wearin leggings when its so cold outside?". Because these are magical. And they dont get stupidly hot inside either.

No other words of wisdom for today. Just stock up on these bad boys. Or wear the same pair a few days in a row (if you aren't riding). I won't tell. 

The awesomest shirt (that I can afford) evaaarr!

So on my birthday shopping extravaganza I decided to buy some Noble Outfitters. It is really inexpensive and awesome sauce. I want to specifically talk about the Mariah shirt.

These shirts are around $25 which puts them at way less expensive than Kerrits. The material is like an athletic shirt. The cuffs have thumb holes which have pros and cons. They keep your palm warm but I don't know if it is the design or if it is just me, but after wearing them for awhile they rub  in between my thumb and index finger and its mildly uncomfortable.

The fabric is fantastic though. It keeps me plenty warm and works great as a layer. It is thin but it wicks moisture. For riding you don't feel sweaty afterwords. You don't get wet after working in lots of layers either. It also has sun protection for the summer so they are multi-season! Today it was around 40 degrees and I wore just this shirt and a vest (also by Noble). When it was 10 degrees I wore this under a jacket and either a down jacket or my 3-1 Joules jacket (fleece inside with removable shell). It is super comfortable. Like I definitely slept in this shirt and wore it daily for a solid week. I only took it off to wash it. And I just got two more. Because I want them all. All the Noble things. I can update about quality in the spring, because these shirts will be all that I wear.
