March Review, April Goals

Totally forgot to track my habits of water ect halfway through the month

March Goals

Fitness- Consistently work out 3 days a week. Go to yoga. Never made it to yoga. Also didn't work out at all during spring break, was too busy!

Horses- Pray that my arena gets finished (or even started at this point). Send Z off to pony boot camp. Get horses started back for the year and then kick butt. Yass arena finished! I even lunged horses on it for the first time last week! Z left on Friday to be started and I'm so excited. Everyone except for Mae got started this month!

Financial- STOP BUYING STUFF. Start saving again. I failed so hard at this during the first two weeks, but I've been great over the last two! Nothing added to savings yet.

Mental-Balance my plate better. Even though I want to be a straight A student, just focus on graduating and spend more time with ponies or doing things just for me. I also downloaded an app to help me remember my daily things like vitamins, now to really see how well I keep track! Totally failed at using the app but hoping to get better. Stopped focusing on school as much (I already have A's) and now going to bust ass to get all the ponies worked.

April Goals

Fitness- Keep aiming for 3 days a week at gym, 1x a week at PT, and 1x a week yoga.

Horses- Oversee that Z has a successful startup.  Ride E 4x a week. Bring a pony to a schooling show.

Financial- Really truly stop buying stuff. Commit to savings.

Mental- Finish the semester strong. Maintain a clean house.

Organize this monstrosity of a tack room (and sell anything I don't need)

Jan Review/Feb Goals

Behind on posts, behind on life. I'm only human, just have to work harder.

January Review

Fitness- Worked out all of twice. Yoga once. Womp womp. Better than 0?

Horses- Snuggled with them. Arena should be started this week. Then time to kick ass.

Financial- Got a job! Start Monday. This breaks my 7 month hiatus without one. My poor credit cards.

Mental- 8 days where I did full self care. Progress.

February Goals

Fitness- Work out 6 times! Make it to the gym at least once. Prioritize 10k steps a day.

Horses- Ride all of my horses at least twice. Get started on Z's groundwork.

Financial- Buy hay, use leftover money for credit cards. Avoid buying anything new.

Mental- Do one week straight of daily self care. Read a book (that isn't a text book). Color.

Minor goals, but baby steps are progress towards huge leaps.

2018 Goals

Image result for sunset with horse

My word for the year is Bloom. In an effort to stay on track, I'm going to do monthly goals. But they are all going to revolve around three major points.

1. Graduate

2. Show

3. Get healthy again

The first two are kind of self-explanatory. But the last one has a lot of meaning. I want to be healthy mentally, physically, and financially. We all grow and change as the years progress, sometimes in the way we want and sometimes not. It is important to recognize that every day the world around us shapes who we are. I am able to be apart of that process and not just let the world do whatever it pleases with me. I'm going to take the world around me as opportunities to thrive.

I'm going to be deliberate with my actions to become who I want to be and where I want to be. What is guiding you this year?

2017 Goals

I'm a little late to jump on this track. I've had these ideas on my mind for awhile and just never found the time to write them all down and make a post about it.

Last year was entirely spent mentally figuring my self and my life out. It is when I came to the conclusion that I want to really try and pursue my equestrian dreams. I have had them suppressed for so many years, and it is time I take control of my own life. I have no one to hold accountable but me, and no one to blame my own happiness on than me. So here are my goals and aspirations:

Horses

Figure out Riesling's future- Will the pentosan injections keep him sound? Will we be able to ride first level tests?

Get my first level scores- Ideally this will be on Riesling, but also I have two backups. Even if I don't get above 60%, just going to the USDF shows and showing first level will be the accomplishment.

Do some schooling jump shows - Unfortunately this is more of a stretch goal. I have a ton of opportunities, but I'm not sure if I'll be able to make this a priority. I really want to get back into jumping though.

Ride at C's and J's three times a week - my poor gas tank hurts writing this one. Ideally I'd like to ride at each place 3 days a week, but if it just adds up to 3 days together that will be fine too. Just want to get all the riding in I can.

Ride Ries 4 days a week- In summer this basically means getting up when its still dark outside to ride before work. I am far from a morning person, but I need to utilize all my time if I want to make my dreams come true.

Personal

Get fit- I used to be moderately fit. I need to get back to that point in order to be a successful rider.

Eat healthier- This is imperative to a healthy mind, body, and soul

Be more organized in life- I hoard like nobody's business so this includes purging. Also includes being more organized with my time and working hard to better myself.

Excel in school - I can't let my horse education get in the way of my business degree.

Save $$ - I need to have a reasonable savings account piled up. It is time to start my life and being broke won't help.

Buy horse trailer- Now that I have the truck, the next item I need to further my equestrian ambitions is a horse trailer. I have an entire year to do this. The sooner the better but it is time to make this happen.

I suck at goals.

 2nd Quarter Goals Review

Which is ok. I know I didn't work hard enough towards my goals and looking back I can realize that I went an ENTIRE QUARTER without doing shit. Well I did a little shit. So lets talk about what happened in 2nd Quarter.

Make every ride a lesson. I feel pretty confident I completed this one. In fact, I worked my horse so much that he was bodysore for the show. /fail.

Do all of my workouts. Jokes. I did NONE of the workouts. Damnit.

Jump I did manage to jump on my own without the holding hands of SB for once. Yay.

Show WOHOO I did this guys! And I rocked it!

Limit My Spending Hahahahahaha major jokes. Damn Mary's. I was doing so well, too! Kinda. I'm a liar. I'm not even putting this on my goals list for next quarter because I want all the things always and who am I to deny myself that happiness?

Use my planner daily. Ugh. I'm actually going to try to suck less at this. This weekend when I clean my house I'll dig it out and start actually planning crap. Like blog posts. What a concept.

Overall progress: 3/6. 50%

3rd Quarter Goals

 Horse Goals:

Sell shit. If I ain't using it, I'm selling it. SO I can buy more stuff, of course.

Get in a routine. After the vacation and horse show I'm basically out of my riding groove. I need to get back into it.

More pictures. For y'all.

Show da Poney Yeah. Going to bribe him with a lot of cookies.

Me Goals:

Eat Better I've been trying but realistically to implement this goal I need to plan my meals better.

DO THE F&*(#&$(* WORKOUTS It isn't fair to Ponykins to be a fatass while he is fit.

Use my planner

Actually blog for once. Like plan dat shit out. Can you tell I'm happy it is friday while I am writing this?

Alright. So I'm adding 2 more goals to each list. Hoping to exceed 50% this go around.

Second quarter goals

I can't believe this happened. Thanks SprinklerBandit

Since, ya know, I never did first quarter goals..oops. I have nothing that cool to post, and no new riding pictures. So here is something to talk about.

Ugh. Apparently springtime shoved a giant stick up Ries's ass.

1 bonus: he finally started drinking out of his waterer again! Second quarter did give rise to no more carrying buckets.

Anyways:

Make every ride a lesson(even if it isn't). Ries has been happily enjoying my peg-leg hacks around the arena. And thus his work ethic left town. More like left the country. We need to re-establish some work ethic and then we can go back to little relaxing rides.

Do all of my workouts. I paid for a workout e-book. It isn't hard. It just takes time to get my ass off the couch and away from netflix. I am struggling setting up a routine. I need a routine otherwise I just fall off the bandwagon.

Jump. Seriously. I need to get my ass in gear. We do so much flatwork. Maybe Ries just needs a jump jump day to get back on track?

Show. I have a show scheduled for May 16. Should be interesting?

Limit my spending. this is way less fun. I really like stuff. And hoing tack. And hoarding tack.

Use my planner DAILY. I have progressively gotten better about using my planner. But not as good as I can get.

Um yeah. That sounds like a good start. Don't want too many things otherwise I'll feel more sad when they don't get done.
